The Noarderleech, located right next to Blije, is one of the most species-rich bird areas in the Netherlands. It is part of the Wadden area designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tens of thousands of birds breed and rest here: lapwings, godwits, oystercatchers, dunlins and, in winter, enormous groups of barnacle geese.
From our B&B, you have direct access to the area. Those who get up early reward themselves with an unforgettable bird spectacle.

UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea
The Wadden Sea was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2009 – one of the few places in the Netherlands with that status. It is the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world and is of inestimable value for migratory birds, seals and a unique ecosystem.
From Blije, you can experience this world heritage up close, undisturbed and in total peace.
